Hi guys, My name is Graham Mcglone. I would like to bring to your attention my newly published book, "The Silvertown Kid - Tales of a Randy Deckhand" It's available on Amazon and the Kindle edition will hopefully be available soon.

I was born in Silvertown nearby London's Royal Docks, and attended the Vindi in 1963. So began a career that would span some 44 years, from deck boy to captain.
This is my story of those wonderful years when I crewed the ships that took me on around-the-world adventures and opened up new horizons in my love life.

I tried my hand at living in Australia and New Zealand, and apart from being seasick, lovesick, and homesick, I had a whale of a time.
This book s full to the brim with exotic ports of call, engineering marvels, funny & strange incidents, weird shipmates, man-overboard, violent storms, icebergs, an onboard murder, boozy bars, gorgeous women, and blatant lies!
Hope you enjoy it.

Sorry to see it's been a mighty long time since anyone placed a letter on your very good site. I'm sure we have all got a tale to tell. I know your magazines are full of very good reading. Cheers Mick

It took me half an hour to type and try to enter my original previous submission to this Guest Book, but has since taken me more than one hour to try and precis/condense my submission to with in 1000 characters - which unfortunately I have had to omit my desired references to the stalwart members of the S.A. Vindicatrix Association. My sincere apologies.

Perfect There is no other word in the Oxford Concise Dictionary that I am aware of that can ably describe the most marvelous weekend that Terry and I have enjoyed in Adelaide.

There were some 93 young ageing Vindi Boys and their partners by my counting, who attended this soiree all of whom appeared to share our views of a most marvelous weekend.

The venue was ideal, weather almost perfect, the accommodation most suitable and convenient to the venue at the Sea Rescue Squadron. The entertainment was most excellent, the tucker was well prepared, cooked, and presented to our comforts and taste - what more could one wish for!

Without want or thought, I/we, Terry and I can only wish to express our gratitude to Tony and his team being Anne, The Witheys, Winston Kay, Brian Togood, the Surfields and other devoted workers, for occasioning such a most wonderful and momentous weekend, which will remain in our minds forever. Thank you all and God Bless you.

Alan and Terry Creasey
